Thread Jacking: if it's an obviously closed thread, please PM before jumping in (mostly as a heads up/so we can figure out why your character would be there); otherwise, go for it.
Fourth Walling/Canon Puncture: I'd prefer to avoid it if it's of the did-you know-you're-a-fictional-character type of thing. But alternate timeline/alternate version of canon? Come at me bro, let's have some fun with these shenanigans. Note that fourthwalling from Deadpool is always okay, no need to ask; if your character is similar in that fourth-wall-breaking is part of their canon, just give me a heads up. That being said, I do have a tendency to write joke tags and delete them, so that you get the notif for the joke and then the real tag follows right after. If you don't like this, please let me know and I won't do it. I don't do it overly often but every now and then I like to toss some silliness out there.
Backtagging: it's the only way I survive my schedule honestly, so go for it. On that note if I haven't replied to a thread that you'd like to keep going, please give me a nudge with a link. Chances are that I've just lost the notification and didn't realize it was my turn.
Avoided Topics: no eye-related trauma, please, and no super in depth discussion of bodily fluids.
Preferred Gender Pronoun: she/her.

IC CHARACTERISTICS:
Current Canon Point: the Marvel cinematic universe, in between the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the beginning of Captain America: Civil War; from canon, spent most of a year in
driftfleet; after DF endgame, spent most of a year wandering the universe with Loki
Physical Description: Image reference. Bucky is just about 6 feet tall, maybe a hair over, with a muscular build. He has dark hair and wears it long, just above his shoulders; his facial hair gravitates on a spectrum of clean shaven to slightly scruffy but doesn't get quite into full beard territory. His complexion runs pale to slightly ruddy, depending on exposure to the elements. His eyes are in the blue to blue-grey spectrum. His left arm is metallic silver, with a red star on the cap of the shoulder.
Demeanor: To sum Bucky's demeanor down to a single word: standoffish. He's not overly outwardly friendly, partly due to his own guarded nature and partly due to the level of mistrust he has for all this person-snatching, world-hopping nonsense; he did not sign up for these shenanigans. His trust is hard to win, but once someone has it, they have a former assassin at their disposal who has no problem falling back on those skills if needed. He's still very much in the early stages of figuring out who he wants to be and doesn't always respond well to other's beliefs of who they think he should be.
Abilities: Enhanced physiological abilities stemming from a version of the super soldier serum created by HYDRA scientists, including:
Enhanced strength, speed, stamina, agility and reflexes. He's stronger and faster than a normal human and can react to threats more quickly. He's demonstrated abilities on par with a professional gymnast; his reflexes are strong enough to be able to catch grenades and block bullets with his metal hand.
Bionic arm. On top of the enhancements to his body's physiology, his left arm is artificial from the hand through the shoulder; the prosthesis is shown to extend into the pectoral. The arm is strong enough to withstand forces such as punching through concrete and Bucky is shown to use the strength in that arm specifically when his body's biological strength isn't equal to the task.
Altered metabolism. He heals faster than a normal human and without much physical evidence of scarring. It's probably also safe to assume that he has greater caloric needs than a normal person just to maintain such metabolism.
His training as an assassin under HYDRA has given him several abilities that extend beyond just being really strong. They include:
Marksmanship. Even before his capture and training, Bucky was considered to be an expert marksman and sniper. The enhancement of his physical abilities has only added to that proficiency and he has demonstrated the ability to bullseye a target at long range without the aid of a scope or other optics. He has demonstrated proficiency with a variety of automatic and semiautomatic rifles and handguns.
Martial arts. Bucky has demonstrated an ability to be deadly in close quarters combat, and his fighting style combines elements of Kali knife fighting, boxing, tae kwon do, and krav maga (according to wiki). In close quarters fighting he is shown to choose to wield a combat knife in his right hand while using his left for support/as a weapon in and of itself.
Piloting skills. Bucky has been shown as having the ability to fly both a Quinjet and a helicopter, both of which he hijacked; presumably his HYDRA training would have given him enough of a proficiency as a pilot to be able to get into a cockpit and pilot a vehicle with little trouble.
Multilingualism. the MCU shows Bucky to be fluent in English, Romanian and Russian; he's also able to understand German though he does not speak it. He does mention that the other Winter Soldiers are fluent in over thirty languages, and it can be extrapolated from that statement that his own training is likely inclusive of more languages than those mentioned.
Medical Information: As stated above, Bucky is enhanced with a version of the super soldier serum. From a medical standpoint, these enhancements include a heightened metabolism and faster-than-human healing capabilities. Additionally, the integration of a bionic arm onto his body comes with the necessary hardware to support such structure and, presumably, enhanced muscle mass to support its weight.
Offensive Subjects: Bucky does not take well to those who want to shape him into their vision of what he should be, whether it be the malicious inclinations of HYDRA or the more innocent-seeming don't you remember who you used to be? from those that knew him. Free will is a huge deal to him, to the point that he will respond violently in defense thereof.

IC PERMISSIONS:
Mental: Bucky is perhaps a little more mentally pliable than the average, given the repeated memory wipes he experienced under HYDRA. That being said, if he can detect that he's being manipulated/mentally coerced/mind read, he's very, very likely to punch first and ask questions later.
Mimicry: Regarding mimicry in terms if someone impersonating him in mundane terms, at the most it's likely to annoy him. Regarding mimicry in terms of something potentially more serious (an actual gaining of strengths/skills/abilities) he'd view it as a threat simply because he knows what he's capable of and therefore what type of danger he can present.
Violence: Bucky is an enhanced human; he's stronger and faster than baseline humans and has been trained in various forms of hand-to-hand combat. Additionally, he is able to punch through walls, tear concrete and deflect bullets with his metal arm. If it comes to fighting, he's got a definite advantage over unenhanced individuals. That being said, any violence would be communicated OOC, rather than sprung on a tagging partner.
Magic: Bucky has no resistances to magic of any sort. Casting simple, mundane spells on him is fine but for anything bigger, just give a heads up first.
Debate: Bucky will engage in debate and spoken discourse to a point, but if the topic is one with which he feels uncomfortable or simply wants to avoid, he'll refuse to respond, deflect the conversation, or simply walk away.

For Memes & PSLs
INFORMATION:
Canon:
I typically play Bucky from anywhere between the end of The Winter Soldier to the end of Civil War; I do also play pre-HYDRA Bucky with an alternate journal. I am up to date on canon through the end of Avengers: Endgame and am flexible with setting interactions at any point. My only canon unfamiliarity is all of the tv/Netflix series — so if you play from them please be patient with me and help me fill in the blanks on events, etc. I enjoy PSLs and the potential for long term storytelling just as much as memes and one-off threads.
Play Style:
My preferred writing style is non-bracketed prose (past or present tense, but I prefer to stick with one once it's established) but I'm happy to match your preferences. I'm open to shipping (m/m and m/f) but I prefer to work the characters into it rather that just have it happen out of the blue; that being said, I am absolutely down with assuming CR and/or a relationship for the purposes of a meme/tfln/etc. I love playing AUs and What-Ifs, and alternate canon shenanigans are more than welcomed. I approach rp as cooperatively developing and telling a story and welcome the chance to do so with others so please let me know if you're interested!
Tagging Speed:
My timezone is EST but I work and go to school, both full time, so tagging times and speeds can vary, especially when it comes to longer prose tags. I am generally not a fast tagger and there may be times when tags may be nonexistent. I'm always upfront about communication around these times but I know it can be off-putting for some. In general, I hit up texting tags much faster than anything else (and I use them as my break from everything) so it's not that I'm ignoring you, it's that sometimes I go for what's easiest and can be tagged from a phone instead of a computer. That being said if I appear to have dropped something you want to pick back up, please point me towards it as it may simply be a case of a lost notification. And if I'm too slow a tagger for you, please feel free to let a tag drop on your end as well. We're all in this hobby for fun, but sometimes play styles simply don't mesh and I'll never take offense from it.
PERMISSIONS:
OOC:
Backtagging: please do! My own tagging speed is a little unpredictable because of work but I will backtag forever and ever, and I have no problems with picking back up older threads if you'd like to continue something. I do tend to drop tfln/meme threads when the post hits captcha, but if it's something you want to continue, let me know! I will almost never deny picking a thing back up, seriously.
Threadhopping: depends on the thread. I'm all for a character crashing into a conversation every now and then but especially in more serious threads it's not my preference.
Fourthwalling: I'd prefer to avoid it if it's of the did-you know-you're-a-fictional-character type of thing. But alternate timeline/alternate version of canon? Come at me bro, let's have some fun with these shenanigans. (Note that fourthwalling from Deadpool is always okay, no need to ask!)
Cross canon interactions: absolutely yes please! I'm willing to thread with anyone, figure out AUs, the works. If I'm not canon familiar I might have to ask you for some details but I'm totally willing to work with it.

IC:
Hugging/kissing/flirting with this character: please go for it! Bucky in canon is quite a bit of a flirt, most especially before his Winter Soldier conditioning. He's obviously aware that the world has changed since the 1940's, and I can flex with him anywhere on the spectrum from still trying to reconcile 1940's sensibilities into the modern world, or having come to terms with the idea of just rolling with what passes for normal these days, just let me know your preference. A little culture shock is always fun, but it's only fun as long as we're both enjoying it!
Shipping note: I prefer not to ship Bucky with characters under twenty five, at least not without prior hashing out of some details. Stucky has also largely been ruined for me as a ship so if you're looking specifically for it I might not be your best bet.
Fighting with this character: absolutely go for it! Bucky is a super soldier serum-ed assassin with insane strength, regenerative healing abilities, and a metal arm that's practically a weapon itself. Oh, and he's got a boatload of people who either want to fight him, imprison him, or activate him as the Winter Soldier, so fighting is probably inevitable. On an OOC note I actually don't enjoy writing extensively detailed fight scenes that much, so I'd prefer a lot of handwaving.
Injuring this character: absolutely, let's just talk severity first so we're both on the same page.
Killing this character: I'd rather avoid it please, but hey we can always talk about it.
Using telepathy/empathy/mind reading on this character: yes and no. I'm perfectly okay with having him interact with telepaths, etc., and happy to write thoughts/feelings that those characters would pick up into my tags. However, considering that Bucky's Winter Soldier personality is brought out by a series of trigger words and that information could potentially be pulled from his brain, I'd rather avoid anything that could lead to characters finding out those triggers, at least without some prior discussion. And Bucky himself will be very fiercely protective of his identity as the Soldier, especially from people who don't know him. But please, let's talk about it if you have any questions!
